Jacob Douglas is a Stockholm-based artist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose music draws from indie rock, Americana and emotionally charged pop. His songs combine intimate storytelling, melodic warmth and arrangements that often shift between quiet reflection and raw live energy. Working largely from his own studio, Jacob frequently records, produces, mixes and performs every instrument himself.
His solo catalogue moves between original material and personal reinterpretations of Swedish music history – from his viral version of Roxette’s Dressed for Success to full-length projects inspired by Mattias Alkberg and Evert Taube. His debut album Austers, recorded in isolation on the island of Fårö, was released in 2021, followed by the album Något stort som inte väger någonting in 2025.
In 2026, Jacob returned with Balladen om ett band, co-written with Andreas Mattsson. Inspired by the rise and fall of his former indie band Sonjagon, the song brings together nostalgia, desperation and the unruly energy of playing in a band. The release followed two sold-out support shows for Belle and Sebastian at Göta Lejon and marked the beginning of a new chapter in Jacob’s solo project.
